  • Tomato Plant Problems

I'm having problems with my tomato plants this year and would be really grateful for some help please! They germinated fine but the leaves started to look a bit coppery. Someone told me it was probably because they were getting too cold in my unheated greenhouse and to bring them in and put them on the window sill turning them daily. This I did and they reverted to a very healthy green. After 3 weeks they were looking a bit leggy so I put them back in the greenhouse last week. Unfortunately some of the leaves are now turning white! What's going on? I've been growing toms for years and never had any problems. Feeling quite disheartened. Am I going to have to start again

What size pots are they in, and how long have they been in those pots? White on the leaves sounds like scorch. Any pictures?

Is (or are) the white areas over the whole leaf or just the leaf sections between the veins of the leaf?

        Cheers, Tony.

You should soon get new leaves - Just be careful with watering. You still don't say how big your plants are.

Rustylady, pots are about 3". Can just see a root or 2 thro the bottom.

Kleftiwallah, I'll go an have a look when the current downpour slows a little!

I think I'd pot them on Sally. Deeper than they were before in a slightly bigger/deeper pot and give them a feed. I'm sure they'll recover, especially if the new leaves are emerging nice and green.
