They are rapidly outgrowing their pots, do you think it would be ok to plant them out next week, I was thinking of putting some fleece around them for a bit pf protection.

No more frost forecast as far as I am aware

No frost doesn't mean it's quite warm enough for them. What kind of temps are you getting at night?

6 seems to be the lowest this week, next week it’s between 8 and 10

All depends on the weather - if it goes no lower than 8 overnight they should be fine - I'd put a bit of plastic or glass over the soil where they are going for a few days first to warm that up too before planting.

We usually have some strong winds during this time of year too,my blow away tents always need securing behind chairs. It’s a bit risky planting them out when you’ve looked after them well for so long. How many plants, what size pots are they in? Could you pot a couple on maybe?

Im also in Berkshire and I purchased some plants from a garden centre at the weekend as I was struggling with space at home to start from seed. The guy working at the garden centre was very sure that the tomato plants I purchased could go outside straight away. I decided to take his word for it as the worst case would be having to buy some more plants in a few weeks which at only £1.50 each wouldn't be an issue.

If you can hold on till 10 ºC, they'll thank you for it.

I've been brave and put tomatoes in the greenhouse, but I wouldn't risk them outdoors for at least another month as our last frosts can be as late as end of May. I've had them in my window since January - I'm not risking it now

Have risked putting mine overnight in the gh the last few nights. Am still debating whether to take them in tonight. No chance I’m planting mine outdoors until next month, but I am further north. Struggling to have them inside now as I have about 45 and already got about 50 chillis inside too.

Just been out to the gh to check temp. Was sitting at 9.6 and given forecast is for low of 8 am going to risk leaving my tomatoes out. Have covered someone the smaller ones in fleece though.
