  • tomato flower but no fruit???

My roma is in flower, but the flowers are starting to go brown and wrinkly and there is no sign of any fruits behind them...... have i lost this plant?

The fruits are tiny behind the flower when they first start, if you want to check then remove the dead flower petals and look into the calyx you should be able to see a tiny grren dot or ball.

      I have noticed the same!
My Roma has 6 - 7 trusses, with most of the flowers faded, yet I only have 2 tomatoes about the size of a 2 pence piece.
I can see small toms behind the faded flowers the size of a match-head, but they don't seem to be getting any bigger.
      Are we being too impatient??

Three of my toms are really small, only about 30cm and they are flowering, is this normal and do I just have a stunted tom?

6 or 7 trusses on a plum tomato in June!!!!IN YORKSHIRE!!!! Were these planted in Nov with heat and lights then?...you must mean 6 or 7 flowers.... Yes your being impatient.

I wouldn't worry much about 'dry' set....sometimes they just don't develop if the temperature is too high....somehow I doubt that where you are and anyhow....less fruit= larger fruit Make sure the glasshouse in well ventilated in a hot snap and I am sure more will form.

No problem its normal,However check... are they in a large enough container?or hungry? (not very green) If not repot (or set out) and feed them with a high nitrogen fertilizer for the next fortnight before moving over to the high potash tom feed.

No, I mean 6 or 7 trusses, most of which the flowers have now faded.
They were sown in March, and apart from a heated propogator as seedlings, they have not had any other heat or light.

They were in large troughs (enough for 2-3 toms) but I forgot to put bloody holes in them and got waterlogged! Any way, I have since moved them to growbags, I have some sulpahte of potash would this be ok to use after the regular tom feed?
