  • Are these cucamelon seeds?!

    Hi!

Bought a pack of 10 from a uk seller on eBay, these are the small seeds at the top of the 5p. None have germinated.
Bought some more but didn't realise it was a Chinese seller untill after I bought em, seeds are much bigger, large seed at bottom of the 5p. All of them have germinated so far but no leafs yet.

So which are cucamelons and what is the other?!

Neither of them look much like cucamelon seeds to me. They should be smooth and whitish like cucumber or melon seeds but smaller.

If you scroll down this page you'll see what they should look like.

But while I was Gooogling I came across several pictures of mysterious black "cucamelon" seeds and they were all from Chinese sellers on Ebay.

The smaller top ones were a lot whiter, that's what I've taken out of the soil after a couple of weeks.
Wonder what I've planted then from china

So those tops one could be right. I think they are a bit tricky to germinate. Is the bottom one also covered in soil? The ones I've seen in the Chinese photos look like watermelon seeds. They also have some odd photos showing the inside of a supposed cucamelon with red flesh, which it doesn't have. Though the outside photos seem to be mostly right. Obviously a con job

They are the same shape and color off cue and melons, but very small, looks like our MOM is right with water melon seed,as they are a bit different, you will soon know when the leaves appear,i was expecting large leaves like the butternuts, but no,a lot smaller and bigger than the cucamelon.

I know the leaves aren't cucamelon! I'm asking whether that plant has grown in a pot where you planted your "Cucamelon" seeds!

Watermelon seeds are usually brown or blackish but not that rough looking. If that isn't compost clinging to it making it look rough, then it's probably something else. I've no idea what.

Well that code is coming up with "Thumb Watermelons" which according to the pics have a red flesh.
