Tall chilli plant for windowsill - suggestions?

I can't seem to edit for some reason, I also want to add to my requirement that I'd like good flavour- I know a lot of ornamentals aren't grown for flavour, but I'd like some!

Chillies don't grow like that. They all bush out from the sides. Rarely will you get a single stem with a little bit in top. It would topple over/snap with the weight of the fruit.
On a window ledge expect the plants to grow less compact and grow a little taller than expected. They will stretch looking for extra light.

Royal black or tricolour are compact plants....about 2ft tall?

Put a couple of plants up on boxes to raise them above the others?

I'd probably go with a different coloured chilli or go with something that has a different shaped pod. Like Scarlet has already said there's a very high chance they're going to grow bigger then the information gives ( chillies aren't known for their reading skills

) and grow into each other. Mine do it all the time. As long as there's enough air circulation it's not a problem.

As for easy to grow. I'd say if you can grow one you can grow them all. They all have the ability to be temperamental, fussy , demanding S.O.B

Personally, in that situation id probably go for the ring of fire each side and one Lemondrop in the middle.
Lemondrop can get pretty big but you should be able to contain it, very productive and pretty yellow chillis, happy days

^^ A bit late to reply but I think lemon drop is a good idea. Capsicum baccatum in general grow quite tall and lanky, so a Peruvian aji or a bishop's crown could work too.

Recently dragged a lemon drop inside and placed that in a window.
Then I pruned it to fit easier. Left about 4" to 6" branches and made it a better shape.

It is about 2 foot high - above pot, so add in pot height 10" one from Wilko if I recall.

Good number of chilli's off it, different colour and a nice kick.

Presently it is growing a selection of new leaves, on what is left of the branches.
