My sungolds are ready to be picked and I thought I would take some to work for supper. So I picked some ( cut the vine from the stem) took them indoors and plucked a few off the vine then put them in my plastic box, then I went to cut a cucumber off and came back and a number of the toms had split! Any idea why?

They just do that. I find with Sungold, it's best to pick them slightly under-ripe - the texture is crisper, they don't split, and they taste sharper (i find them too sweet when fully ripe).He-Pep! -
Agree with bario. They do have terrible tendency to split when picked. But they're so thin-skinned delicious I don't mind.Comment
