  • Sugar Snap Peas

I have just ordered some sugar snap peas. I have never grown them before so I thought i'd grow them along the back of my veg patch along the length of the fence.

How far apart do I sow them and will they need support?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

I sow mine the same as ordinary peas.....a double or treble row in a trench about 3 ins apart.

What support they need depends on the variety I grow Super Sugar Snap and that grows to about 5ft high, but Sugar Anne is about 3ft.

I think the fence and some string will be getting used as my support. Maybe the odd bamboo cane.

Are they a dwarf or tall variety?

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

          They are a tall variety.

I support my tall ones with that stiff plastic mesh with 8' canes pushed through it to keep it vertical. Easy to assemble / take apart and can be reused many times
