  • Strange Chillies

Hi all well this is my first post.

I am searched far a wide for answer to this question without finding the answer. Maybe someone here will know.

Some of my chillies have started to look like a flower, it is almost like they have opened up the first skin to then produce a whole new chilli inside.

    Any idea why this is?

I bought loads of different chillies from a local shop and took the seeds out and planted them in my green house this year, none of them looked like this chilli!!!

    I have attached a picture

    Hope all is well

    Andrew

not sure really, but could be, it only has one stem, a very strange thing, also it has happened to some of chilli fruit but not all on the plant

I've seen sometimes a bell pepper can have a small pepper inside. I don't think it results from a seed inside that germinates, as they are not ripe until the pepper is ripe. See here:

I will enter it is the online show, where can that be found?

I never thought about a pepper in a pepper, it was beautiful till I ate it lol.... tasted great, but there are more, a friend suggested that it might be from cross pollination because of being with loads of different types of peppers...so maybe a new mutant pepper?

who knows, i will save the seeds from the rest to see if I can recreate it next year. But I have searched far and wide on the net and seen anything like it. Also there are so many different colours, yellow, green, red, black...amazing really

I will take a picture of the whole plant for you to see
