Hi, if they were mine i would wait another few weeks, but if you are anxious to get them planted then go ahead. They do look healthy.

I'd bung those in a bed somewhere together, and put them into their final positions once they are a little larger.

When did you sow them? If you have room on the plot then plant them out, but as they're obviously young and tender you will need to look out for slugs and snails after a tasty snack.

Mine were about that size when I put them out a couple of weeks ago, they're now more than twice as big. The only pest problem I've had is the bl*sted jackdaws who keep pulling the darn things out!

They've already got a chair - how pampered do they need to be?

I think a cushion on the chair for a couple weeks before they go out

They look good and healthy braders, I am about to plant some that size.

I'd follow the advice of Zazen999.
I had some like that a few weeks ago and was advised to keep them together, which I did, in Morrisons buckets(the smaller ones) and today planted out 24 "Musselburgh" and 18 "autumn mammoth, Snow star" all about pencil thickness and very healthy.
                      Thanks Zazen.

I had to put mine out as they were going to nannas and I wasn't sure how much space to leave for them if I didn't put them in. They have been in a month or so and are much bigger now and looking mighty fine... so I would bung em in

Did you have any problems with your onions? If not, bang them in - if so then don't.

I started putting mine into final positions a week or so back; I've given up on using an old spade handle as a dibber as the clay is just too thick to get down far enough so I'm back to my trusty bulb planter.....I may pop loo roll innerds over each one once I've backfilled the soil into each hole...just for more white leeky yumminess......

[See, I can do straightish lines, once I get going]

Don't tell anyone but I sowed more a few weeks back and they are going into a corner somewhere on the old onion bed until I have more space round the lottie....they will be used as baby leeks as they probably won't grow as big before bolting......
