whatever it is it's certainly into Italian food!
I had a tiny catterpillar on one of my chilli plants which ate the biggest holes. I only managed to catch it after a few days of its muching, it was invisible till then. It was black so I think it sat on the soil to hide. It might be one of those. I squished mine, very satisfying (I have to stop the gardening lark, as an ex-vegetarian it's making me very blood thirsty!). -

WiZeR, it could be baby caterpillars, baby slugs, capsid bugs or anything else that's hungry.If you can't find anything in the day go out with a torch at night and investigate!

Your pics look very similar to the holes in my own plants (same: aubergine, chillies, peppers, toms) in the greenhouse. The caterpliiars in my case, vary from tiny to huge and seem to be from the Tomato Moth. Not id'd by me I hasten to add: see the thread under Greenhouses, headed as Caterpillars...
The beasts themselves are really difficult to find...I feed them to the hens when I do find any. Very satisfying and I don't have to squash them!

Aww bless him it seems a shame to squash him! It looks like some sort of sawfly or moth larva, you'd better check WiZeR, he might have friends.
