Have had a far greater number of very large snails this season so far. Other than a few small slugs nothing else. Has anyone else the same problem[Not complaining]

Nope, over here in the east I have a few snails, but loads and loads of slugs, including many of the huge greenish ones which give me the shudders.
On the positive side goosander, at least you can spot huge snails more easily!
Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.Comment

Plant a row of lettuce as bait. If you look closely the brains not all that large. They'll slither to the all-you-can-eat buffet leaving the good stuff alone. I end up with toads sat under lettuce leaves lying in wait for dinner.

Had slugs about 4 inches long brownie colour last year. Snails you can at least lift and throw in the garden pond/

I always have a lot of snails in my garden, fewer on the allotment, but the snails do just as much damage as the blimming slugs *grumble grumble*Comment

At least with snails you can can have a game of wiff waff on the potting table. No cigar boxes - try using the plant pot saucers
