sigh Should I move these?

I've just had a Google. Because I'd not heard they didn't get on ( more likely not been paying attention) . Apparently it's to do with corn ear worm and tomato fruit worm. Couldn't work out if they are the same thing. All info I could find was American so not necessarily relevant.
Back in a minute going to look in my companion planting book.

Done a quick Google and it seems that whilst it is popular advice no one seems to know why the advice is given. The closest to an answer is that specific pest would eat both plants therefore double the food. In fact anecdotal evidence seems to point in the opposite with it allegedly being a practice of some Amish farmers to interplant them (there's a community never to be panicked by a Google search)

So it should be fine although they may be prone to singing the songs out of West Side Story when no one is listening.

I wouldn't worry - as long as there is enough space they should be fine.

I grow Sweetcorn and tomatoes in my greenhouse for the last 2 years without any problems

Well so far this week I am learning to be more relaxed about planting times and now also about planting companions. Tis all a learning curve.

There are some plants which inhibit the growth of others near them - but in essence gardening is pretty simple :- light , warmth, water and feed are key ingredients - though the details when you get into stuff like pest and disease control can be baffling.

So that's interesting, thank you SP! Turns out that's a family of moths that mainly attack cotton, but also potatoes, tomatoes, beans etc. None of the species that I could find exist in the UK, but are widespread and prolific in south america, asia and Australia. So I think we're safe to plant tomatoes and sweetcorn next to each other!
