Pulled some zebrune shallots earlier tbh I wasn't too sure of when to pull them the leaves we're nice and green but they all seemed bent over so in a bit of haste I pulled them but they feel a bit soft?
Should they be very firm and any idea what I've done wrong if I have thanks

Mine are a mess as well! I don't have much luck with onions.

Although my onions & shallots leaves are horizontal, I'll wait for them to die back before lifting as the green leaves are still doing their job.

My Zebrunes aren't ready yet, they are still upright and green so I'll leave them for now. One had fallen over and was just about out of the ground, just attached by a solitary root so I pulled it and it's in the garden and sun to dry. Most are a good size but some are quite small . . . I suspect the ground may have been too firm in places and the result is a small bulb. I'll do better next year
