    Sage

    I have just hacked my huge sage plant back and have loads or new good growth. I have pulled off the old black leaves. Can I dry it? I hoped I could hang it and dry it to use it later on in dry form????

    Any tips or ideas?

    You can dry herbs in a very low temperature oven and also in the microwave.

      In the microwave put the herbs on kitchen towel (paper) and give them 10 - 30 second blasts on full power/high. Keep turning them until they feel dry and leave them to stand for 5 minutes. When cold crumble into jars.

        Hang it in bunches in the house sparky, it'll keep the flies down - honest, my sister swears by this!

          That's a good thought Nick.

          We always have the odd fly bombing around in here somewhere. Usually happens where I'm trying to do some paperwork. HAHA

              Yes my sister always has a bunch hanging up in her Kitchen & greenhouse as well so maybe it deters Aphids too

                It doesn't work!!! So you loose out this time

                Well unless it because I only have purple sage? Or it's not dry enough, or I don't have enough bunches up!
