  • Runner Bean name?

My parents neighbour gave me some runner bean seedlings and these are the pods they have produced. He doesn't know the name of them so can anyone identify them? They prodiced a pale mauve flower if that helps.

    Many thanks.

The look like a borlotti type rather than a runner....can your parents ask the neighbour the type?

Borlotti beans is my guess too. When young they can be used like runners, sliced and steamed, but I leave mine to mature and harvest them as dried beans.

I grew some French beans that looked like those but mine were dwarf
" Fagiolo Nani D'Albenga ", they had pale mauve flower and are also speckled.

They look like my Bridgewater climbing french beans from the Heritage Seed Library, with the purple splashing to the pods and the mauve flowers.
