  • runner bean leaves and flowers eaten by minute jumping caterpillars

Help - my runner beans are being eaten away, all flowers are disappearing, the leaves are a network of threads, mostly up 3-5 ft high, bottom leaves are fine. I have inspected and removed a little bit of black fly but there are minute green bugs which when I touch the leave fly/jump away and I cant catch them but desecrating my beans! Any ideas what they are and how to get rid of them please - they may be misleading and it is something else eating but this is all i could see with my torch last night!
    thanks
    Alison

Caterpillars don't jump (at least not any that I've seen). No idea what your bugs are - any chance of any pictures? The sort of damage you describe sounds more like something bigger is causing it.

i am no expert on this but if you take away the caterpillars pogo sticks it may cure your problem.

whatever they are they're full of beans
Jiving on down to the beach to see the blue and the gray, seems to be all and it's rosy-it's a beautiful day!
