I planted out some red onion sets from the seed trays I started them off in. They all have healthy green shoots and roots BUT the bulbs are soft and squish in when pressed. Every single one is like that (when I planted them also) I take it they will still grow ?

The sets are the food for the new shoots - that's why they shrivel. The shoots will form a new bulb. Nothing to worry about!
