  • Raised beds

I've just posted my intro so now it's into the serious stuff

My fancy is for container veggie gardening but now I've spotted raised beds and my first question is can I put them onto concrete as I've a great space in full sun and in front of the kitchen window which is a nice size, about the size and shape of a regular greenhouse, if there's any such thing. Also, would the beds need to be deeper as they are on concrete? I think I'm going to buy them as I don't see myself as a handyman just yet.

I'm also going to have some pots maybe with herbs and for a few other veg. and gro-bags for tomatoes, see how much I can fit into a small space.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

A raised bed on concrete should be ok as long as there is enough drainage.

will have to be deep enough for the roots of the veg...i imagine the water will seep down on the concrete and leech under the boards so drainage shouldnt be a problem..might dirty your concrete tho...but hey..thats what pressure washers were invented for

Welcome to the Vine Mimosa. Your raised beds should be allright on concrete as long as they are deep enough for what you want to grow and you make provision for drainage. Good luck with the beds and containers.
