  • Quick Potato question

I have successfully grown potatoes in potato bags, about 3 in each I think. But has anyone grown potatoes in the black flower buckets? Are they too small or would you get enough for a meal out of 1 bucket. ( 1 potato in each) ? Just a thought

You certainly will. I have just set 13 buckets in the GH to be a little bit earlier than normal.

If your like me you from 1 seed you will start at one boiling because you can't waited but as they go on this will increase.

Do you do Earlies or Charlotte's? In the small buckets I mean? These will be outside.

I replant the ones I harvest early - the little potatoes still attached continue to grow until the tops die down.

What are the measurements of your UK flower buckets? I can get them here but they come in a variety of sizes.

They come in slightly different sizes here too. The standard one is about 11ltrs or so.

Just remember the carrier bags must be in a suitable pot to exclude the light, otherwise good idea..

The bags are inside the flower bucket.
