I have a dozen each of aubergines seweet peppers chilli peppes and tomatoes. I need pots to grow them in.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to obtain or make cheap or free 10 or 12 inch pots. the cheapest new is about a pound, Which makes the pot the most expensive part of the whole veg growing process.

    Regards

I knew the omnipresent Morrisons Flower Bucket would be the answer.
I used to wonder a couple of years ago what kind of wierdo bought eight plastic buckets at a time, and why. Now I have dozens of them all over the garden, in GH and spares in the shed. I even have a couple to store veg in, in the kitchen.
Don't know how I'd get by without them.

I only managed to get mine a few weeks ago, but not for the want of trying. Asked in Tesco and they looked at me like I was an alien!. Asda were more helpful and although they gave me a couple they weren't really geared up to people asking for them.
Was out with OH the other day and we passed a Morrisons.
I've looked in a Morrisons before but never had the courage to ask.
OH wouldn't come in with me but having seen one of our peeps here say that you ask the meet and greet person I went in and did just that.
Got a similar reaction as at Tesco but at least with a smile and this time I stood my ground. I got passed to three people and eventually to the grumpy *** on the flower section.
He did, however, point me towards the buckets, UNDER the floral displays and almost out of sight, all taped together in 8 for 99p. I bought 16 and 14 are already in use. They are brilliant.
They are not thick (which just makes it easier to cut out the bottoms) but very usable.
Now I know what, and where to look, I shall be back for more

My toms and chillies aren't yet at the Morrisons stage: they are still in cut-off tetra packs (fruit juice) and milk bottles (4 pt)
