can you put old tubers onto you compost or will they keep producing new spuds and artichokes ?

They do tend to shoot in the heap. I'd put them in the council bin. I also found out a few years back, when lobbing out Spanish bluebells, that they also try to grow in the compost heap. I had very long (12") white shoots running through the heap and wondered what the heck was happening till I remembered!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
