  • Potato ants

I planted my potatoes in sacks when I was at the allotment this morning. I hadn't really minded that there were ants in the compost bin until I went to fill up the bags. I was short on time so just had to chuck the compost in, ants, eggs and all. Are they likely to do harm to my tatties or will they move on now they've been disturbed?

Ants don't like it wet and spuds do. I have never lost spuds to Ants

Give the bin and the spuds a good watering and the ants will scarper.
