  • plant shallots now

I have not grown shallots before, my sets have arrived, can I plant them now, or should I wait until all risk of frost has passed?

    Thank you

I think definitely get them in, mine went in a few weeks back. Shallots go in earlier than onions.

February is the best time for planting shallots I've found, but planted now they will be ok!

I tend to plant mine in modules then plant out on the plot when I do my onions - this is mainly as the beds don't tend to be ready any earlier as I haven't eaten enough cabbages

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
