.....and here's a thread that you started in April, asking a question but not answering anyone else's or acknowledging their replies.

I have decided that next year's garden plan will be rigidly followed, unless I get seeds or plants cheap
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

My plan isn’t made yet. I might well get some seeds fron Santa, so I better leave planning until I know what I am growing ;-)

I plan and commit it to paper, but it always changes as things go along. More of this plant, fewer of that; missed the sowing deadline; left seedlings too long in their pots; get given seeds and seedlings I wasn't expecting...

I keep pondering on one of those online planners that remind you when to sow seeds. But I'm not convinced they would be any better than squared paper. The only thing that would be useful is being nagged into sowing or planting out by the emails they send out.

I've kinda done something similar myself Snoop, but it's not turning out to be so handy lol I basically just put actual meetings in my goggle calendar. I'm gonna have to do something else, cause now I can't see any of my normal appointments lol

Well, I've started with the 5 year rotation plan. From that I've drafted a 5 year timeline detailing fertilization and soil improvement schedules.

That'll give me a base line for what should happen where and when....

From that, I can then start all the rotations in parallel, enhancing / fertilizing the soil so by the end of year 2, soil structure should be well on way to improvement.

Then I have a bed by bed rotation plan so I know where to plant. Was finding "Winter & Spring crops" mixed through the late season stuff so not getting beds prepared in advance.

This links into a "Garden Focus" week by week schedule to give me sowing dates, hardening off etc

Then into a spreadsheet (bed by bed) variety specific to give a seed list and estimate of harvest date and when bed is free. Has comments field to not if crop any good.

So it is all in paper... just have to do a bit of work

OK - I jest. Beds are half dug and next years - no dig plans are start to be delivered.

What does a project manager do when he has time on their hands?

Don't have Gantt chart software, so can't optimize project plan... or is that or perhaps just sad...

Just need the weather to play ball.....

I was expecting chillies to be on the list with those herbs, Atta.

Had me going there, 4Shoes. I was feeling positively inadequate!

The only planning I do is making sure I have seeds sown in time to mature - where they'll end up on the plot is anyone's guess!
