  • Peas and beans

Hi, I have planted peas and runner beans in the last couple of years with good results. Unfortunately I am limited to the places that I can set up a frame and they have been grown in the same location. If I move the frame somewhere else it will cause shading problems for other plants. I want to plant again now. How worried should I be about repeating the same location?

Some people have a permanent bean trench/frame and grow there year after year. Give them a good feed and I'm sure they'll give you one in return.

Thanks. I am aware that beans generally add nitrogen to the soil so was less concerned about that than whether there are pests that should be wary of. I shall take your advise and get planting!
