  • parsnips

I have just pulled a couple of parsnips and there are some small brown trails/furrows about 1/8inch deep on a few places around some of the roots. I can not see what has caused this. Earlier in the year I treated the bed with slug nemetodes as a general slug deterant is there any thing else that might have caused this?

Could be a combo of canker and carrot fly. Don't carrot fly get in where there's a bit of canker? Anyway mine had brown/orange marks last year and some were really bad with canker but you just peel it off or cut out if it's deep.

I don't think it is canker as there is no scabbing anywhere near the furrows
