  • Over-Wintering Chillies

This year we succeeded in growing chillies from the GYO pack. The final chillies are turning red, some we have used, some have been dried and stored.

My question is how best to over-winter the 2 remaining plants?

We have the option of an unheated (but frost-free) greenhouse or indoor windows ledges both sunny and shaded.

    Any guidance appreciated.

    Hi Dog House,

I am overwintering my chillies too. They will love the indoor sunny window sill much better than the unheated greenhouse. Don't forget to cut them back ( +/- to 10 cm), and do not over water them. Make sure they are not too close to the heating ( 1 of mine died because of the hot air).

    Good Luck,

The window ledges would be a better bet - I have mine on the staging in my tunnel and covered with fleece but then I have enough plants that if only half make it through the winter I'll be happy.
