Unfortunately (for veg) my house is too warm and veg doesn't last long. Was thinking of building an enclosed veg store out side the back door to keep it fresher for longer. Any using one/self build plans (mouse proof)

I too have this problem- a modern flat which is very well insulated and no storage.i have a metal bin bought for about £17 on eBay (brand new mind) which I have outside in a shaded area on my balcony. It stays cold nearly all year, is mouse proof and perfect to store my tatties in.
