Oh that's odd nickdub, I'm in Norwich and the flower lady there told me they'd stopped doing it. Maybe different stores have different policies?

beats me - I'm pretty sure I didn't dream it because they had both black and white buckets, and I was very tempted but decided I'd better not - be kicking myself if they have disappeared in the interim.

In the grand scheme of things, it's probably better if they are genuinely being reused by Morrisons.

I wonder how much fuel is used to cart the buckets back to the point where they get re-used. Are they cleaned before re-use,(more energy) etc., etc..

I know recycling is a "good thing" but I bet nobody adds everything up.

They probably realised they can reuse them & save money,Morrison’s are quite clever

I really think it just depends on the staff member you ask. I asked on two separate occasions in my local Tescos and once was given about a dozen free of charge (along with a funny look) and once told that they weren't for sale and were reused.

I agree with Bario, it really depends who you ask. Staff changes quickly in supermarkets and often they can't be bothered to go and look for them and just blah you off. It's happened to me many times over the years.
I'd try again another day.

I think it is more likely a case of it is Norwich and they don't want the hassle. I find the Beccles store more helpful than Diss but haven't been past either for a while. Will ask my Dad if they are still selling theirs and let you know should you or a family member ever go out to either of those directions.

Yes, could just be unhelpful staff members, I've tried three over two separate visits and the first two just looked a bit confused and said they don't do that.

Tried Asda today too and was looked at a bit blankly told they "think they get sent back".

I'll just have to keep trying I guess!

I would have thought the delivery lorry would unload the full buckets and take the empties back with him. And in my book it's better to use the energy to return buckets than use it to create more un-recyclable black plastic.
