Going by the videos of people eating them on youtube - you're going to want 4 pints of milk on standby, and the loo roll in the freezer

Its still got a green tip at the bottom, so I think I shall leave it another week or so to fully ripen....how long can you leave ripe chillis on a plant?

Then it will go chopped up with nothing removed other than seeds (saving for next year), and popped into a Chilli for 4 people.

I've been allowing a load of runner bean pods to dry out so we have some suitable how grown beans ready for the occasion

In my experience ripe Chillies seem happy on the plant for quite a while as long as the plant is healthy.

Like chrismarks said, make sure you have plenty of milk/ice cream/yoghurt/sour cream to hand and do be careful when you're de-seeding the Chilli

I have built up to this with the Choc Habs as they're pretty violent as it is.

With those, just tossing them sliced up into a hot frying pan led to eyes and nose activity that I would usually only get after eating a very hot curry. Just from the FUMES! Throat irritation also.

So yeah I shall take even more care with these weapons grade chillies

That's great! I'm looking to grow one of these next year... I hear they can be quite temperamental to germinate?
              What would Delia do?

I managed to get 3 out of 4 Bhut Jalokias (BJs LOL) to germinate using a an electric window ledge incubator thing I got off ebay. All 4 out of 4 chocolate habs germinated also. Price was good too, let me know if you want me to find the vendor.....

You could try asking for swaps? I've got lots of choc habs growing & they have a fair few seeds inside - of course I can't be 100% about them cos they weren't isolated, but...same for the bhuts too.

Drop into chilli...stir and stand well back!!!!

You and yours must be hot heads to chop a whole one up in a chilli....i usually split it and let it soak in the chilli!!

                          Let us know!

Also Naga's and Bhut Jolokia's are different chilli's (although very closely related)

I am pretty sure this is the one I got

Its fared well all summer on the window ledge. Low power consumption. You can turn it off when its really sunny in the day time.

Just follow the instrucitons and have sand etc under the pods and around them to help spread and contain the heat evenly.

SUPER 7 ELECTRIC WINDOWSILL PROPAGATOR on eBay (end time 12-Sep-10 15:12:26 BST)

                              ^^^

Money well spent when I think about how many seeds were wasted before I got it.
