  • Mostly green pumpkin - can I eat it?

We picked up a pumpkin from the allotment donations table today, so have no idea what variety it is. It's got some orange skin but is mostly green (the photo below shows basically all of the orange). Should I try and get it to ripen (assuming it's supposed to be all orange) or should I just use it as it is?

It'll taste much better if you leave it somewhere warm & sunny to ripen.

Give it a bit of time to cure & ripen on a sunny windowsill, turning it to get the greenest areas in the sun, orange should show more after a few days or a week.

I find pumpkins to be pretty flavorless, anyway, to be honest. It will technically get better if you can ripen it, but it still won't be that great. Needs mixing with other stuff and plenty of seasoning.
