  • Mooli!

    Hello everyone

Has anyone grown any Mooli with any success? I thought I might have a go and just treat the seeds the same as radishes although I'm hoping they grow a bit bigger. I also havent actually bought the seeds yet - was just going to go for Thompson- Morgan.

    thanking you

Yes, they are like a long white radish and taste similar. I'm growing them again this year. The only problem I had when I grew them previously, several years ago on my old allotment, was that they tended to attract wireworm so some of the roots had to be cut up. You could still eat the non-wireworm bits though. I love them to dip in hummous. Some of them got to about 6 or 7 inches.

I grew some last year as an experiment. Like Flummery's some got quite big. They are surprisingly mild. Mine fanged a little so I don't think my soil was quite right. I'm deffo going to try again though. I got my seed from T&M too.
