  • Mega Cheap Enviromesh - Aberdeen(shire)/Angus

I've been speaking with a local farm about buying their second hand Wondermesh (Enviromesh) after they lift it off their crops on Sunday.

It measures 13m x 100m and so far too much for us in our Walled Garden/Allotment, but... including VAT it come in at an amazing 20p per square metre. Would anyone be interested in splitting the booty? As an example a 13m x 10m length would cost £26 but you could have as much as you wanted.

I'm based South of Stonehaven near Laurencekirk and my OH works in BOD, Aberdeen so if you are within travelling distance of these places I'm sure we could work something out.

Almost worth driving up to you!

Kenny, no probs, let me know and I can get the scissors and tape measure out in the back garden, hopefully on a day it's not windy. I thought Shirley may be interested too.

Do you want to contact her, or do I get the blether ? !
Actually, I am still wondering what I have done with all my lists of phone numbers, I am not entirely organised yet after moving...but just lifted four boxes of tatties this afternoon, pretty chuffed that I got so much even though the ground was so stony I had to use a pick when lifting them.
Secret to dealing with Enviromesh et al on a windy day is to have it rolled up and peg the end down upwind of where you want it, then unroll downwind while placing stones you have already set in place onto the mesh while unrolling. Of course Murphy's Law says it will be folded...!
To cut in straight lines use planks with marked lengths on them, and do dotted lines with a marker pen. A board underneath and a sharp steak knife is better than scissors. Nice to know all that time spent as a tree nurseryman was not wasted...

I am just wondering why the farmer isn't using it again next year as it is supposed to have about a 10 year life before it degrades?

He hasn't used it for nine years has he?
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

                Diversify & prosper

                  Hey Snadge

They're changing their machinery to deal with 13.5m widths so selling off the 13m. It's 3 years old.

                            Hi Amanda,

I'd be interested, need to have a measure up tomorrow. Assume no issues with posting it to sunny Tottenham?
                            Cheers

                            Danny

What sort of length are you after broadway? (width is 13m). I'll be speaking to the lady tomorrow and if there are enough takers I will go and buy it and 'divvy' it up to those interested.
