None of mine have flowered so far this year but I dug up my red duke of York yesterday and had a lovely meal

Nicola should flower mine have, there a purple flower with orange inside quite pretty, I planted them out in March and there just finishing flowering now

There are flower buds on my King Edwards too - and they were the last to be planted!

Flowers aren't always an indicator of readiness on their own, unless your dealing earlies I take my cue from them falling over or getting blight more than anything.

With earlies I'd go with the planting to harvesting timeline, as opposed to looking for flowers. If they are in bags, I'd have a rummage around to see what's what.

I'm going to dig up some of my earlies tonight for tea. Some of my King Edward haulms are going yellow now... surely there's no way they're ready yet? They were planted at the end of March.

If your earlies have been in for 4 months then flowers or not I would be having a rummage (furtle) you don't want them too big. My early rocket didn't flower but yielded well for earlies.
