Not tried these...but they look a little like trombonchinos .....which i grew last year. i have grown the round nice ones and they are absolutley gorgeous - eat them while they are really tiny - i would imagine (but hopefully someone will tell you who has actually grown them) that these are similar to the trombos...very firm flesh - personally this year i will grow round ones and yellow ones(gold rush).

I have not looked at the forums for a while as I have been busy at work.

Longue de Nice are as described in my site, but I do not mention the flavour.

2 years ago they were excellent, and last year I bought a new packet of seeds in Nice from a different company and they were disappointing as they were somewhat watery and tasteless, although they grew well.

It just goes to show that a named variety from a different breeder can vary from the others.

I still have some seeds from the first lot and intend to grow them side by side as a trial.

Although I have a studio in Nice and visit regularly, my French is not good enough to discuss the problem in depth with the man in the garden shop who like most "artisans"

I intend to highlight this on my web page

Thanks, aal, will be interested to know how they go for you this year. Who were the first lot of seeds from btw? Do you think weather conditions might have contributed to the 2nd lot seeming 'watery'?
