  • Lettuce pray

I'm trying a few different techniques with lettuce this year.
Some will be sown in largish pots and cut and come again.
Some will be started in trays and transplanted into largish pots
Some will be started in trays and transplanted into a bed
Some will be started in trays and shrivel up and die

Have I left any obvious options out?

      Sow directly in the bed?

      In a hanging basket?

Scatter seeds wherever there's a space that isn't covered with membrane?

Don't bother and buy some lettuce.

        Some sown directly
Some dropped onto the bed and path from that little hole in the corner of the seed packet you didn't notice.

Grow in pots indoors, on the kitchen or bedroom windowsill.
That should please Mrs Baldy - conveniently positioned lettuces for whenever the need for a leaf occurs.

Balders, How could you miss the two most obvious things! Some will be eaten by slugs, snails, wabbits or whatever invades your garden when you're not watching it overnight, and some will bolt before your very eyes!
I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!

Some will have their heads offed and be stuck in compost bin, only to regrow all hydra-like feeding upon the decomposing remains of their former colleagues.
