  • Leeks 'Mullesburgh'

I've had these sitting around since the beginning of the year but did nothing with them.

Do I have a chance of getting a yield if planted out now, or am I too late ? (soil is clay)

Like Jay says you've nothing to lose, well apart from your time and a bit of space. I'd go for it

They won't grow much at this time of year, but might put on a bit of growth if you're in the south before it gets properly cold. If it's going to freeze might be an idea to give them some protection as they're little.

With a bit of luck they'll grow a bit more in spring & you might get "baby" leeks before they bolt.

Worth a go, & let us know what happens!
        Another happy Nutter...

I agree with all the above - shove them in, keep an eye on the weather and if push comes to shove eat them as pring onions.

Pull them all up, cut the roots off and stick them fried in a bacon sarnie!

            Sow some afresh at Crimbo!
