  • Jerusalem Artichokes

    Hi there

I planted some Jerusalem artichokes many weeks ago and they are showing no signs of life. I have never grown these before and wonder whether I have either done something stupid like planting them upside down or whether they are naturally slow to pop up. Does anyone have any ideas please?

First I'll say hello and welcome to the vine Spoonbearer

I don't think it matters which way around you planted them they'll find their way to the surface just like potatoes do. Some of my JA's are just starting to show to green shoots the rest will be along later in the month.
    Location....East Midlands.

Slow to establish & show, at least mine were last year.
But once they show, you can practically watch them reaching for the sky.
      Very nice too.
Feed the soil, not the plants.
      (helps if you have cluckies)
