  • how many lettuces?

    I have a spare growbag, and some lettuce seeds...... question is how many lettuces to a growbag??

        The recommended spacing for this lettuce is 25cm and 30 cm between rows, but it depends if you are going to grow it to maturity or use it for young leaves,if for young leaves you could plant quite close. Full maturity takes around 77 days.

            Could you thinnly sprinkle them, use the thinnings and leave some in to heart up?

              Yes. This ensures that you don't have to wait so long and also lengthens your consumer time.
              I have sown them too and look forward to eating them.

                I sowed some lollo rosso thickly in a 12 inch pot and and it now looks as if it's got a red/green afro hairdo. I just pull bits off to stick in sandwiches so i'd say stick as many in the growbag as you can. If you are not growing commercially you don't need a perfect plant of a uniform size you can just pick it whenever you want.

                  i dont bother with the guidelines.. as someone said you can thin them out if you think you have sowed too much.

                  some lettuce i grew in a clay pot,, the healthiest crunchiest lettuce i ever ate...
