  • How many cucumber plants roughly?

If I wanted to use 2 cucumbers every day, how many plants do you think I'd need to provide that amount during the average growing season?

I haven't got a clue so even a rough ballpark idea would be helpful.

I planted 6 outdoor and 4 indoor cucumbers last year, and found that some weeks we only got a few, and other (warmer) weeks we had 3-4 per day....
So, I think it will be difficult to judge accurately as we don’t yet know what the weather has in store for us.
I gave away as many as I could, and pickled the rest - haven’t finished eating them yet!

As said last year was a good year, but I had more than enough for me and the neighbours from 3 plants I'd guess that 2 plants per person would be about right.... but it's warmer where I am.

Do you want 2 big or 2 mini cukes? Obviously, the smaller ones don't take so long to mature.

You might get some ideas from last year's counts https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...8-a_97007.html

I had about six or seven mini cucumber plants last year & got at least one a day sometimes two. Ten plants would be good,I’ll need to grow more this year everyone loves them

Grew 4 feminized Telegraph plants indoors last year and must've been getting 3-4 a day easily, probably 20-30 per plant over the season

Last year I got 25-30 per plant grown outdoors over a 2 month period which means it averages out to 1 a day. (regular ridge cucumber about 25, Crystal Lemon 30). I have 8 plants in the propagator at the moment (2 crystal lemon, 2 Chinese Slangen, 2 Burpees Tasty, 2 Armenian Yard Long) and I might plant a couple of seeds straight out when these plants go into the ground to start to crop a little later.
