  • History of Potatoes...

I found this earlier and thought I'd share it with you!

    This bit I found amusing!..
"The potato was carried on to Italy and England about 1585...... Wherever the potato was introduced, it was considered weird, poisonous, and downright evil.
In France and elsewhere, the potato was accused of causing not only leprosy, but also syphilis, narcosis, scronfula, early death, sterillity, and rampant sexuality, and of destroying the soil where it grew
    "

...always worth keeping an open mind eh???

History of Potatoes, Potato History, Legends of Potatoes, Irish Potato Famine
"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

    Location....Normandy France

I read a really interesting book on the history of the potato a couple of years ago - the title in itstelf is intriguing. Link below but I borrowed mine from the library.

fwippin eck, I've eaten more chips than you could throw a stick at and rampant sexuality isn't one of the side effects.
