    Hi all,

does anyone know where I could get a collection of herb seeds. I can buy the types I want individually but sometimes it can be more cost effective to buy a collection and giveaway / sell any you don't use.

    Any thoughts?

You can buy a reasonable choice of herb seeds from www.edwintucker.com -their prices are very good and a lot of their seeds are organic -eg 90p for 1000 basil seeds (plenty to share with your friends...and theirs....and theirs...!) Infact everything they sell is much cheaper than Marshalls, they have much more choice and are very reliable. I too would like to know of any other seed merchants who specialise in herbs.

Clarea I buy herb plants from the garden centres for my herb garden. I don't need and wouldn't use 1000 seeds of one variety. Plants cost about £1.50 and last for years. The only herb I have bought in seed form is basil because I want to grow it outdoors and I want to grow quite a few plants at a time. Plus I have a feeling that the slugs might like it so I will probably have to sow quite a bit.

        Herb Seeds

I have successfully grown basil in the greenhouse at the allotment but have not had any success with growing it outdoors - it was the large leaf variety and I used Seeds of Italy - they are so generous with their seeds that I find I can grow masses of seedlings for our allotment plant sale. I am less successful with parsley at the allotment but can grow it on the kitchen window sill. Does anyone know where I can get seeds for various types of mint? I can only find the common mint seeds.
