  • Help - new to growing! Tumbling Toms

My seeds haven't arrived yet, but should be here next week - is it too late to start growing from seed? Any advice welcomed NVG x

I would say it's a bit too late to start toms off now - maybe a trip to the garden centre to get some might be better this year and save the seeds for next year? Most people start their seeds Feb to April, but some of us like to have a go with some earlier. Depends where you are are and how you can keep them warm etc, as they can't go outside til after frosts have gone.

I've sowed Yellow Tumbling toms in May , they won't probably fruit till late August, but I got a really good crop (it was a good summer) Sarah Raven always does a May sowing of tomatoes in the GH to last up till November. I sowed some Vilma today to try it out. I'll let you know how it goes!

I tried jogging, but I couldn't keep the ice in my glass.

I would go for it. The season is so far behind they will probably catch up.
