  • Guttering

    Hi Folks

    I knew i had some somewhere !!

Just found some guttering in the garage and put it above my raised bed on the fence posts it is about 8 feet long and now full of MPC.
As i have lettuce and strawberries already growing was hoping for some suggestions on what to put in it.

Most people i have chatted with can only suggest lettuce
More ideas would be most appreciated

Also i had better mention that it is in my drive and gets abit drafty when the wind blows

    Cheers
    John

    Hi John
I am not sure, someone will know though! I think that guttering is often used to start off seedlings on a windowsill. I expect it might be ok for herbs, chives etc

I use it for seedlings in the greenhouse, but I suppose you could use it outside. Something small I would suggest, and bear in mind that the MPC will probably dry out quickly, especially if it’s windy. Don't forget to cap the ends of the gutter, or else everything will be washed away in one heavy rain shower.
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

What about radishes you would get a decent amount in that size guttering, or even spring onions they dont require a lot of root space.

I would put herbs in, or maybe sweetpea? Perhaps something decorative? Like trailing verbena?
