  • Growing Potatoes

Does anyone else have a problem with remembering which variety of potato is in which row? Sometimes I make a plan and then lose it, and sometimes I wedge the name in a stick at the end of the row, only to find the rain has washed it away.. so each year I never know which was the best variety ( ie no eelworm)..

perhaps you should give your plan to a responsible adult?

only kidding!!!! you do all the right things just need to be a bit more careful somehow - phone a friend?

Use a permanent marker and write the name on a brick or large flat stone placed at the end of the row.
It won't blow or wash away.

Hi, Have you considered only growing one variety at a time

I personally keep a small diary with all my dates/times varieties and results.

This way I can easily look back at what worked and what failed to give me a better chance in the future.

Being a diary, I tend not to lose it as well.

I keep all that info on a chart That way I only have dates to write in and I can see everything at a glance

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Yes Julie, but I'm retired after a very hectic working life. Now have time to bring all my organisational skills to the things I want to do - and loving it.
