  • Greenleaves, challenge finally completed & now a new one

    Feb 2017

First open bed finished, I will leave an 800mm path then start the next open bed. Will have to redistribute some of the soil to level it up a bit.....

That is an amazing transformation, especially if you have only been using hand tools. Brilliant.

          Looking good GL.

The triangular plot next to yours is similar shape and size to my own, methinks.

Flippin eck, that much land must make you just about self sufficient in veggies!

Did a little bit over the plots today, been feeling unwell the last couple of weeks but the fresh air really helps clear my head

Upon arrival I feared the ground would be frozen due to the weather of late and the dusting of snow

Dug 3 of the 15 raised beds, which will all get properly aligned and leveled when I have dug them all

No new pictures today as I have only dug another couple of beds....how can an area 1800 x 900 mm fill a wheelbarrow with roots, shoots and weeds?

So on plot 54 I have 15 beds in the middle third all 1800 x 900, I grow all the traditional crops on plot 51 (next door) but want to try a few unusual veggies on plot 51.....any ideas?

Not much to show really, but I have had a re-think. I am now going to have five 5400x900mm beds and five 900x900mm beds in the middle third.

I have completed one of the 5400mm beds, ignore the white wood in the picture, just holding things in place till I drive some more rods in.
