Good question Shortie. Not short of recipes for my herbs and can freeze some for later but what else can I do with them. Any favourite tips very welcome.

I got a really good book called 'Practical herb garden' by Jessica Houdret (Hermes House) from Borders Books about 2 years ago for £4-99. It's a big paperback with lots of colourful pics., advice on growing herbs, their medicinal & culinary uses & some recipes for things such as sauces, soups, breads,teas & even face cream made from pot marigolds.It was from the 'Bargain book' table where they have a selection of books all around £5-£10 including ones on some gardening subjects such as orchids.Some branches have probably still got it as I have seen the orchid one in a few recently.

Tips on freezing would be useful. I need better freezer management, as I always manage to lose the herbs, they get lost at the bottom somewhere and I find them ages later!~
Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.

Hi Jennie, I believe the best way to freeze herbs if you want to use them in cooking is to put them in an ice-cube tray with a little water & then when you want to use them you just throw the ice-cube into your stew/soup whatever.Into every life a little rain must fall.Comment

Time to brag methinks. As I was Member of the month for last month, one of my prizes was a superb book called Herbal by Deni Bown. Mind you it isn't cheap if you have to buy it (£25) but it covers loads of herbs & flowers & what they are usedful for.

try looking for books on www.greenmetropolis.com all books cost £3.75 (larger ones you pay a bit more for postage but normal paperbacks postage is free), you can sell books for £3 a go and 5p per sale is donated to planting trees.Comment
