  • Garlic still alright to plant?

I have got these Garlic Plants which are currently sat in the Polytunnel as when I planted them it was January and the ground was frozen as well as saturated. Do these look like they will still be alright to plant?

Bung 'em in, Mark, they'll have more chance in the ground than they do in those modules. Some look a bit dry.

I found a garlic bulb left over from last year. It's a bit long in the tooth for cooking with so I split it into 9 cloves and planted it in a flower bed. Nothing lost if it doesn't grow but it'll be a bonus if it does lol

May as well plant it as cloves.
I planted some about 6 weeks ago and exactly half have appeared, I do actually expect the others to make an appearance. So what you have will not be a great deal difference.

Silly me did my usual trick of putting stuff in pots and then forgetting about it last summer In September I found two Elephant Garlic bulbs in 6 inch pots and was able to salvage 6 cloves off each...half the size of normal ones but nice and healthy. I've planted them in modules & left out over the winter and they're starting to grow now so will be going into the ground in the next few days once I sort a bed out for them.

Also picked up two Elephant cloves from Wilko which are twice the size of my saved ones so we'll see how the crops compare at the end of summer
