  • First time spud bag growers

I brought some Rocket & Aaron Pilot and I underestimated just how many bags I will need seeing as I have 100 seeds, can you tell me just how many you plant in your bags? If you had never grown spuds in bags before did you get loads of left over seed spuds or did you use them all up?

If you don't have enough spud bags you can always use heavy duty black sacks which is what I'll be doing. A few drainage holes cut in the bottom and roll the sides down, then roll the sides up as they grow adding more compost.

Oh yes, I forgot about the ol' black bags! How many do you put per bag?

I think we usually put 6 a bag. 5 around the outside and 1 in the middle if you get me.

I put about 5 in as well. I only buy 1.5kg bags of seed potatoes now cos I always have some left over which I end up giving away.

Ok thanks, I will try about 5 in one bag, what is the yield like when growing in bags.... guess it's a case of "How longs a bit of string?".
