    Enviromesh

    In a desperate attempt to get carrots (other than diddy ones from a half barrel) this year I'm going to invest in some enviromesh.

    So, do you use a tunnel, or just stretch is over the top?

    The answer to that, I think, is yes. You adapt it to what you are doing. I would suggest, depending on the width of your area, either make a tunnel, or stretch it across but raised off the ground to give your veg room to grow upward. Whichever you do, make sure you bury all 4 edges with no gaps, then nothing can get in.

      My carot bed is constructed of whatever was available at the time. The back and ends are 2 foot high clear perspex on a wooden frame the front is green debris netting, also on a 2 foot high frame.
      The whole lot is covered with a sheet of enviromesh 18 foot long and 6 foot wide supported every 5 foot by cross bracings.

      Enviromesh is the only way to go if you want guaranteed success with carrots!
